Cherry Jubilee Horse Show June 29th-30th July 13th-14th Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds
Fundraiser Show August 17-18th Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds
Message from the president Dear fellow horseman, I know there has been some confusion over the Jr. Horse/Jr. Horse Challenge. Over the years, the number of entries in the original Jr horse classes has dwindled to very few, if any, and was often combined with the Sr. Horse classes. In 2023, it was time for something new, something that would actually benefit these young horses....the Jr. Horse Challenge! A set of classes with a handsome payback created just for the youngsters. It was kept to a walk trot class to give even the greenest horses the chance to safely get in the ring and gain valuable experience. It was a hit and has been grown this year to it's own division with both weekend and year end awards. For this year, the Jr. horse will remain walk trot to give those young horses the same chance to learn and grow. Is there room for this to grow and possibly add canter classes in the future? Definitely!!! Jr. horses can absolutely compete in the other walk trot classes or compete solely in their rider's age division walk-trot-canter. The same rider/horse combo just isn't permitted to compete in both walk-trot and walk-trot-canter at the same show. Which division is better for the horse is up to the rider. Ultimately, it isn't about the bragging rights, the ribbons or the prize money... it's about giving young horses the confidence and ability to have long and happy careers.
